Alexandria Running Club

Our Running Club includes runs at a comfortable (conversation) pace.  We take all the stress out of learning to run.  Join the Alexandria Running Club and make new friends who also enjoy fitness.  Our runs are specifically developed for beginner runners who need to build a running base.  Our runs are generally 2-4 miles long, and you’ll get a trail map so you’ll know how long the run will be.  Our club is specifically developed to support weight loss in conjunction with weight training and yoga.

Our Run Club in Alexandria Meets on Saturdays and Sundays according to the below schedule.  Scheduled runs are subject to change, but registered runners are notified.  Always check the live schedule before meeting for the run.

All members must RSVP if they’d like to run in the group.  If you are new, please view our club policies, fill out our intake form, and sign our informed consent agreement.

Membership Fees for Alexandria Running Club

Membership fees cover insurance costs and future association with the RRCA and RPM Run Club (Pose Method).  Your membership is good for six months.  After six months, you’ll have the option to renew.

  3. Strength Training For Runners: Hips and Core Strength Training. We have been developing a strength training programs for runners for over 3 years.  Battled-tested from hundreds of runners, our strength training programs will help you help you run better and reduce risk of injury.
  4. Flexibility For Runners: build range of motion in hips, quads, ankles, back, and hamstrings. Through both Yoga and Mobility WOD (M|WOD) we offer customize flexibility programs for runners.  Build the range of motion you need to run safely and efficiently.
  5. We offer customized 10K, half Marathon, and Full Marathon training plans.

Rules of the Road ARC

    1. RSVP: The RSVP window closes 12 hours before the scheduled run. You need 24hrs notice to cancel a reserved session. No-Shows and/or late cancellations are disruptive to the coach.  Repeated violations will lead to cancellation of your running membership (with no refund.)
    2. Scheduling: We don’t accept schedule requests by email or texting. Also letting us know in-person that you’ll be there, isn’t the same as RSVPing.  We’d love to have you join us, but you need schedule yourself through the client portal.
    3. No drop-in runs: We don’t accept drop-ins for the running club.  If you’d like to join us for the run, you’ll need to RSVP at least 12 hours before the run.
    4. Call if you have technical difficulties: If you are having technical difficulties using the scheduling portal, just call us and we’ll teach you how to use it.
    5. Check-in and Check-out: We maintain a check-in and check-out procedure for each run.  You may not exit the run midway and just go home, get coffee, etc.  For your own safety and everyone else, you need to contact the gym by email if you cannot complete the run.  The moment you decide you aren’t going to complete the run, please use your phone and contact us.
    6. Updates: The Rules of the Road are subject to change without notice. However, a current copy of the rules is available here at all times.

Informed Consent Agreement ARC

  • I know that participating as a runner, jogger, walker or in a wheelchair, or with a stroller in a running club is a potentially dangerous activity and that I should not participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. I also know that there will often be traffic on running routes. I assume these risks. I also assume any and all other risks associated with participating in a running club, including but not limited to falls, injury, contact with other participants or persons, the effects of the weather and the condition of the roads or running surfaces, all such risks being appreciated by me. In consideration of you accepting membership into the Alexandria Running Club Association (ARC), I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns release, save harmless and indemnify all those persons comprising the group commonly referred to as the Alexandria Running Club Association (ARC) and Sand & Steel Fitness LLC (SSF), their respective agents, employees, assigns or anyone else for or on their demands in respect to death, injury, damage, loss or expenses to my person or property, whether foreseen or unforeseen and wheresoever and howsoever caused, arising out of or in the course of my participation in this running club and related events and notwithstanding that the same may have been contributed to or occasioned by any act or failure to act, including without limitation, negligence of the Releasees or any of them. PHOTO RELEASE: I hereby grant ARC and SSF permission to use my photograph or video image and name in any publications, displays, presentations or other related use in any format (print, electronic, website or other media) for the purposes of documenting and promoting Team ARC or the SSF activities, sponsorships and projects. I waive any fees, copyright or other rights I might have in my image as represented in my photograph or image in perpetuity. I hereby acknowledge having read this release and waiver and by accepting a membership I understand and accept its terms.
