Festivus CrossFit Competition

Festivus:

A novice / intermediate friendly CrossFit competition. A local box in Sterling is hosting the competition and Sand & Steel is putting together some teams. The competition will be on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

Dates:

• Registration Deadline: March 15, 2023. After March 15, you’ll need to register independently on Festivus’s website as an individual competitor if you want to participate.
• Festivus Competition: April 22, 2023. Start time: 8AM. Finish time TBD at Black Widow CrossFit, Sterling VA.
• Organizational Meeting: Taking place during Brunch at Vermillion this Saturday at 12:15. RSVP Required, attendance optional.
• Festivus Training Sessions: Mondays at 7PM. Festivus uses synchronized movements, so practicing as a team is very important to our success. These practice sessions will be built around the workouts we’ll be doing in the Festivus Competition. The sessions will be open to all members, but really only useful to members participating in the Festivus Competition. You’ll see the sessions marked on Zen Planner as “CrossFit Competitors.”

Registration:

• Deposit: $15 (Pay through the website after March 10 at 5PM.)
• Balance Due: $85. Due by March 22 > Pay via Paypal, cash, check, or Venmo.

Registration includes Festivus registration, credit card processing fees, Festivus platform fee, T-Shirt, and 4 Specifically Designed Training Sessions.

Teams

Teams will be created on March 16, 2023. Each team has three people. If there are more people registered that can fit on a team (e.g. 10 people or 11 people), the last one or two people to register will have their registration canceled and their deposit refunded. Sorry, but that the fairest way to do it. Register early so that this doesn’t happen to you. Festivus is also open to individuals, so you’ll be able to compete alone if you want to.
