Meet with Your Personal Trainers

1 Hour Meeting with personal trainers Paul and Dawn to begin building you a custom workout plan.  Discuss what kind of workout program will be best for your goals, injuries and time frame.  Develop a workout strategy based on a combination of powerlifting, functional strength training, corrective exercises, mobility, nutrition and/or yoga to accomplish those goals.


Product Description

Gym Tour Overview: The purpose of the gym tour process is to provide you with an overview as to how we can help you reach your fitness goals.  We will help you select a program that includes services such as Personal Training, Nutrition, Diagnostics, Mobility or Flexibility Training.  We’ll also step you through setting up your online account (so bring your cellphone) and show you how to book sessions, etc.

Booking Process: Once you have purchased your Starter Pack, use the Gym Tour and Consult to book/reserve your Gym Tour and Consult.  Purchasing the Starter Pack in advance allows the time to provide you with a free 30 minute nutrition consult.  If you don’t purchase the Starter Pack in advance, we won’t be able to provide you with the free 30 minute Nutrition Consult.

Client Intake Form. Since we customize your training and gym tour around your goals and limitations, we need you to fill out our Client Intake Form.

A la Carte Services.  In our shop, you will find direct links for our personalized workout plan, 60 Minute Nutrition Session, 60 Minute Mobility Session, or InBody Scan.

The Results Come From YouPurchase your Starter Pack

Purchase Starter Pack: The Starter Pack is our new client pack and we’ll teach you all about the other services (personal training, nutrition coaching, and mobility training) during your first consult.

Book Your Session

Book Your Session: Your Starter Pack Sessions expire in 30 days, so get them booked.  The sooner you start, the sooner you can start moving better, losing weight, and getting strong.

Consult and Inbody

We’ll go through your client intake form with you, and explain how we can create a program that is keyed to your goals.  We’ll also discuss your history of injuries and your experiences in working out.

InBody Scan and Macro Report.  We’ll analyze your current body composition and determine a time period for your goals.  We’ll also prepare your initial macros for gaining muscle and losing weight.

Booking Your Sessions – Video Tutorial

To Book your Fitness Benchmark or any other personal training session, just follow the steps in this video.

Fitness Performance Benchmark.  60 Minutes of testing on mobility, strength, conditioning, and range of motion.  We use this benchmark and your client intake form to help us build a custom program for you.

First Workout

A custom-designed workout based your benchmark results.  Typically done on your third visit (after the Fitness Assessment)

Understanding Your Accounts

You have two accounts at Sand & Steel.  Make your life easier and use the same username and password for both.  Use your email as the username and select a strong password (10 characters, 1 capital, and one symbol)

You can set up both of these before you even step into Sand & Steel.  If you have trouble or don’t get to it, etc., we’ll do it with you during your consult.

What to Bring With You

  • Cell Phone.  You’ll need your cellphone to complete the in-person registration.
  • Credit Card.  In case you want to purchase any additional services.
  • Email Password.  Make sure you know your email password so you can access your email in the gym.
  • Sand & Steel Passwords.  You just created it!  Write it down so we can show you how to use the software.
  • iTunes or Google Play password so you can install our App!  Or Better yet, install the app now. Memberme+ (Android) or Memberme+ (iTunes)


We will take you at the time you select in your appointment.  We train clients constantly throughout the day, so there is no need to come early.  Just be on time, and we’ll promptly take you on time.

We have street parking only — check Prince Street or in the metered lot behind Sand & Steel. Also going South on Alfred St. often works.

    I started with the Gym Tour and Paul laid out a plan for me to correct my shoulders. Fast forward two months, and I can say that my shoulders have never felt better. I have regained range of motion that I lost from a car accident. The pain is just about gone.

    First class professionals! Highly personalized and skilled approach to strength training, mobility and nutrition. Trainers are highly motivational but everything is designed for you and done at a pace that is both comfortable yet challenging as you accomplish new body strength and mobility that you thought were impossible. And yes, the nutrition program does work for weight loss! Even for those 65+ this is the place to be — to re-engage all of those muscles and increase mobility that pays off immensely not only with the tasks of daily living, but making life more energetic and fulfilling. Five stars!

  3. 5 out of 5 I'm a 3 year veteran of Sand & Steel -- so here is what to expect


    I’ve been training with Sand & Steel on and off for about 3 years now. And it’s only because of me that it’s has been on and off. After my first child, I started training with Dawn and Paul after my sister recommended them. It’s been a struggle for me because I had 2 kids back to back and he has always been understand and accommodating. Dawn is very flexible with scheduling me. There have been times that I have had to cancel and I feel terrible, but they are always so understanding! That’s a big deal when you are a mom.

    Paul and Dawn really know what they are doing and trains according to what your needs are. The workouts are never boring and he is always switching it up. Once I mention I never get enough cardio in because my kids never allow me to; so he took it upon himself to incorporate it into my workout routine (sometimes I regret I even said anything!)

    I enjoy my workout sessions with him at least 2 days a week, he makes working out fun & the hour goes by very quickly. If you are looking for someone who can help you reach your goals to be fit & healthy, I’d definitely recommend contacting Paul and Dawn to see what they can do for you.

    I am recovering from shoulder surgery following an injury while participating in Crossfit. Physical therapy only took things so far as sessions are limited to how insurance defines mobility and strength. Paul, Dawn, and the staff have taken my rehab over from there. They are concentrating on correcting long standing minor and major form problems and mobility issues. All the workouts involve correcting problems and full workouts so I can regain the strength I had plus increased mobility. Overall, I am very pleased with how things are going.

    I have been training at Sand & Steel Fitness for about two months now, and I am very pleased with my progress. I have had training sessions with Paul, Dawn and Brain and they all have pushed and motivated me throughout each workout sessions. Emphasis is focus on the quality of the workout vice the quantity-they teach proper form and execution each exercises. I am so much stronger than when I first started. I am excited to continue this journey of improving my physical fitness with the trainers at Sand & Steel Fitness!

    Dawn and Paul have created a terrific environment in which men and women of all fitness levels feel comfortable and are pushed hard (but NOT boot camp style). If your workout style is more conducive to a collaborative style, this is your place. Neither Paul nor Dawn will let you coast through your workout. They will push you hard to accomplish your goals, but in a way that ensures that you will not risk injury.
