Rogue Fitness Kettlebell Review

Rogue Fitness Kettlebell Review of the Competition vs Cast Iron. Rogue Fitness Competition Kettlebells cost 30% more — is it worth it?

Rogue’s Standard Iron Kettlebell 16KG is one of the best kettlebells on the market. The handles are smooth and it will last a long time. Even if the finish does wear off it easy to it is easy to sand and refinish. It is a product you can have for a lifetime.  Why buy the more expensive Competition Kettlebell?  The Rogue Fitness Competition Kettlebells comes in a standard size. It makes the kettlebell clean much easier to do than the smaller sizes, because it fits properly in your guard.

Rogue Fitness Kettlebell Review Overall

Overall, the Rogue Fitness Competition Kettlebell earns a 10/10 for our overall review.  It’s well-made, consistent, and a gem to use.  Some people might deduct a star for the price, in which case you can buy the cast iron kettlebell.

The guard is a standard position that is much easier with a kettlebell in its full size.  Additionally, Rogue Fitness put in these little divots that you can see on the yellow kettlebell, but not on the right.  Also the handle itself is thinner on the Competition Kettlebell.  I prefer the small width when competing, but a bigger width when training.

The divots on the Rogue Fitness Competition Kettlebell make movements like the kettlebell snatch much easier to do.  The same is true for the overhead lockout position.  You can rest your forearm in these little divots, and it doesn’t hurt your radius and ulna nearly as much it would with a regular kettlebell.

Review for Rogue Fitness Kettlebell Cast Iron

Granted, you can use a “regular” cast iron kettlebell to do snatches.  You just will need a little more practice to control your wrist positioning.  With the competition style, you’ll be less bruised while you are learning.

Another nice thing about Rogue Fitness Competition Kettlebell is that they are all the same size.  This helps when you are switching weights, you don’t have to adjust your timing for a different size kettlebell.

We want only the best for our Open Gym Members and CrossFit classes deserved the best kettlebell money can buy.  So we are updating all of our kettlebells to the Competition grade.  We think you will get more value out of the competition kettlebell and enjoy it more.  To us it’s worth the extra 30%.

Rogue Fitness Kettlebell Review — Other Options

If you are on a budget and have some medicine ball lying around Rogue’s New Ballista is an interesting product.

Rogue Fitness Ballista Kettlbell

The Ballista is pricey for a canvas strap, but the build quality is very good.  We bought one of each size.  And to be honest, if you have a bunch of medballs, the ballista is very good.  It is easy to switch weights and doesn’t take up much space.  You can do most kettlebell exercises with the Ballista.  It’s a better product than I expected.  This was a big surprise in my Rogue Fitness Kettlebell Review.  If you don’t have space for a bunch of kettlebells in your apartment gym, this is a good option.
