Brad wins our Transformation Story of the month. Losing over 20 pounds of fat lost in just 2.5 months. Brad began his journey with our Strength and Conditioning program which allowed to lose this weight. Having the lost this weight, Brad wrestled with the difficult decision of rebuilding an entire wardrobe of clothes (he now wears a slimfit medium shirt. 🙂 Now 20 pounds lighter, we started preparing Brad for his ultimate goal, the Ring Muscle-up.
We placed Brad on a strength and powerlifting programming called the Westside Strength Training Programming (named after the Westside/congugate powerlifting system). This powerlifting program is based on powerlifting techniques using bands and chains to build dynamic resistance. This system uses traditional lifts (Deadlift, Bench Press, Squat, Overhead Press) and their supplemental variations (Box Squat, Straight Leg Deadlift, Push Press, etc) along with accommodating resistance to improve strength. Training increased to three (3) times a week to optimize the program and allow muscle groups to recover. Utilizing Dynamic days and Max Effort days we can already begin to see strength gains.
To help him consistently build the strength to do complex CrossFit Movements, we built him a CrossFit Gymnastics Program focusing on techniques like the Handstand Pushup and Ring Muscle-up.
