This week is jam-packed with exciting events.  On Friday February 25, we kick off the 2022 CrossFit Open.  The Open is your chance to get a real taste of CrossFit and see how you measure up against everyone in the US.  Then on Saturday February 26, we are working together to reconfigure the gym to make Sand & Steel better than ever in our Gym Reconfiguration Meeting.  Afterward, Member Sean Dunphy is hosting a board game night after we’ve completed updates.  Then on February 27, Mike Hoard and Coach Paul are leading a special beginner friendly trail run at Sand & Steel. So clear your schedule for this weekend, and join Sand & Steel for a weekend of fitness, health, and friendship.

Note, we have a special CrossFit class time for Saturday (class starts at 11AM).  Coach Paul is privately coaching veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project at 10AM.

In the Beyond Stretch Private Mobility Sessions and Classes, we use methodology from FRC / Kinstretch, and Mobility WOD / Ready State to improve flexibility, strengthen end-range of motion, and build resistance to injury. But what does a Beyond Stretch “Flow” look like? Below, we’ve provided many example Beyond Stretch Flows based on Functional Range Conditioning and Kinstretch methodology.

Our New Member Form takes about 10 minutes to complete. The form allows us to quickly customize the training for you, and helps us keep you safe during your training. We store your info in an electronic file, so all of our coaches can access your information. We use this form to provide you with a coordinated and consistent training experience.

Obstacle and Mud Running Training Schedule:

Week 1. One Mile run ➤ 50/50 setups ➤  5 x 20 pushups and dips ➤ Four 100 yard dashes ➤ final one mile run.

Week 2. Sand Bag Run

Week 3. Kamagon Run

Week 4. Vipr Run

Week 5. Infinity rope, farmers handle carry, slam ball carry and slam, Jacobs ladder.

As of September 2, 2015, Sand & Steel will be having a new class in preparation for the October 10th Savage Race.

 Intro to Mud and Obstacle Running

If you’ve been wanting to run a mud run for a long time, but have some anxiety about preparation and training, then this is your opportunity to join a team, make friends, and make it a memorable experience.

Our class, “Intro to Mud Running” will teach you how to prepare for a Mud Run as well as train you to run it.  By the time the Run comes (October 10, 2015), you’ll be in prime shape to run it.
